Skiing in the Grossglockner/Heiligenblut Ski Area – face to face with the Grossglockner

The sun is out, the air is freezing cold; the powder snow has covered the world in a myriad of glittering ice crystals. If you’re thinking ‘photo opportunity’, you are spot-on. Vast, snow-covered mountainsides, perfectly groomed pistes, feathery powder snow – and in the background, the pyramid shape of the 3789-metre-high Grossglockner, Austria’s highest mountain. An outing in the Grossglockner/Heiligenblut Ski Area is a fantastic experience, not just for winter sports enthusiasts, but also for photographers, nature lovers, and anyone with an appreciation for truly breathtaking views.

Lift operation winter 2023/24


15th of December 2023 to 07th of April 2024

Current Information

The lifts Viehbühel and Hochfleiss will not be operating in the winter season 2023/2024.

The lift Tauernberg will be used as a replacement lift if the lift Schareck cannot be used due to wind conditions.

The tunnel lift Fleißalm, the platter lift Ederfeld and chairlift Fleißbahn, will operate as follows, subject to sufficient snow conditions:
-Open all day: Fri, 26.01. until Sun, 31.03.
-Closed: Mon, 01.04. until Sun, 07.04.

 

The off-season prices apply on days without Tunnel- and Fleißbahn.

Natural snow and open ski room

The ski resort Großglockner Heiligenblut is characterized by a number of attributes. The snow reliability is high, the slopes are varied and the waiting times at cable cars and lifts are kept within limits. The 47 kilometers of slopes and 10 lifts make optimal use of the terrain and there is enough free skiing space left and right of the groomed slopes. Powder fans and freeriders are in wonderful hands in and around Heiligenblut.

Beginner to expert - something for everyone

Alpine skiing, carving, snowboarding or off-piste skiing – the professional instructors at the Grossglockner/Heiligenblut Snowsports School will be happy to teach you anything you’ve set your heart on. Learn from the pros, no matter what sports equipment you’re using At the Ski Nursery, even the youngest budding athletes learn the basics of life on the slopes, while those ages 4 and up are able to join a kid’s group lesson. For a greater athletic challenge, there are alpine skiing and snowboarding courses. As with most things, one-to-one lessons are the fastest way to success.
